Rules

  • Yardage is measured from center of tee to center of green.
  • Each player must have his/her own golf clubs.
  • No golf carts, pull carts or bags allowed on green or tee boxes. Lift and place ball two club lengths from any artificial obstruction without penalty – but not nearer the hole. This includes watering equipment, hoses, sprinklers, tanks and pipes, trees under 2 inches in diameter, golf course equipment, building and grounds under repair.
  • Ball lying in tree may be dropped back two club lengths, not nearer the hole.
  • Ball lying on green, other than the one played for, must be lifted off green, no nearer to the hole without penalty.
  • Out of bounds penalty – one stroke plus loss of distance.
  • Bunkers on 2,3,4,6, 8, and 9 play as rough – do not improve lie.
  • On #2 men’s tee-off, if ball comes to rest behind the screen, it may be moved to drop area with a one stroke penalty being assessed.

Age Restrictions

***For a 10-year old to golf by themselves, they must be a participant in Junior Golf.

If you are 16 or older: You may golf anytime except during league hours. Check league schedule and special events at the clubhouse.

If you are 6-9 years old – You may golf when accompanied by an adult at least 19 years of age at the following times: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday – Friday and 8:00pm – Closing Monday – Friday.

If you are 10*-15 Years old – You may golf without an adult as follows: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday and 8:00pm – Closing Monday – Friday and 7:30 pm – Closing Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.

  • You must be accompanied by an adult at least 19 years of age from: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.

If you are 16 or older – You may golf anytime except during league hours. Check league schedule and special events at the clubhouse.

Regulations

For those who won’t or can’t abide by the rules, or who do intentional damage to the course or equipment, all privileges will be revoked, including membership. Vandalism will be prosecuted.

Bringing food or beverages onto the grounds from outside sources is prohibited. Once-warned repeaters will lose all privileges and/or membership. If the beverage is alcoholic in nature, local law enforcement will be notified at once. Since HGCI is a liquor licensed facility, bringing alcoholic beverages onto the premises is a violation of the law just as if the alcohol was taken into a downtown establishment.

  • All golf carts are to be kept a minimum of 30 feet from the greens and stay on cart paths when possible.
  • Everyone MUST register in Clubhouse before play.
  • No one under the age of 6 is allowed on the golf course either walking or in a golf cart.
  • Everyone must begin play at tee #1. (Exceptions will be made by Clubhouse personnel ONLY).
  • EACH player must have a set of clubs and a golf bag. Rental sets are available in the Clubhouse.
  • No individual is allowed to play alone on Saturday, Sunday or Holiday’s without permission from the Clubhouse. Faster groups of players MUST be allowed to play through.
  • Shoes and shirt are required at all times on the course and in the Clubhouse.
  • Barefooted golfing is prohibited.
  • Profane language in the Clubhouse or on the grounds is strictly prohibited.
  • On league days, please contact the Clubhouse Manager for available tee times.
  • Tee times are recommended on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
  • Watch speed of play at all times. Please stand aside and allow faster players to play through. 

Rental of Cart Shed Space

Rental of space for cart storage is available on a yearly basis at a fee set by the Hartington Golf Club Board of Directors. The rental time will be from May 1 of one year until April 30 of the following year (unless changed by the Board). Current membership must be paid to be eligible for cart space. Hartington Golf Club Inc. will not provide any type of insurance to cover carts, clubs, or any other personal items left in cart storage.
